As Executive Director of Advisory Services, Michael oversees company strategy, identifying and developing alliances with partner organizations. He’s also responsible for business, team, and practice development.
Michael brings over 25 years of experience as a finance executive with several major corporations, most recently as CFO of a $9 billion downstream energy company. Prior to that, he spent considerable time with Royal Dutch Shell, Union Pacific, and various GE entities. His experience covers a broad range of industries including the healthcare, waste management and manufacturing sectors. He had recently launched his own venture when his father died in November of 2015, bringing Michael to Houston, where he joined forces with Manhattan Resources.
Authentic, positive, and self-aware, Michael possesses the ability to analyze and dissect complex issues, reducing daunting challenges into bite-sized pieces. He is heavily focused on professional and personal growth, with a tireless work ethic and determination to succeed.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance from the University of Houston. He is also a graduate of Shell’s Global Leadership Development program at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business. A native of Wichita Kansas, Michael spent his high school and college years in Houston. His career has taken him to a variety of places, including Salt Lake City, Amsterdam, Louisville, and Atlanta.
Michael and his wife Jana have two sons. He’s also close to his mother, brother, and dog, Daphne. He enjoys golf, boating, and doing ambitious projects around the house. He is active in his boys’ education and extracurricular activities, currently serving as Treasurer of the their high school golf booster club.
